B-Day Sneak Preview

Last weekend, March 4th, we did a dress rehearsal of Lena's birthday with my parents. They are on vacation this week, so we had a small celebration at their house with just us. It gave me a chance to try out her party hat and party etiquette. And, it was an opportunity to wear another cute item from H&M. I wish her dress came in my size! Check out our coordinating stripes.

She ate the entire piece of applesauce cake by herself.

Traveling & Snacking

A week ago Thursday, on March 1, Lena and I went to visit Amanda and Sigourney. While I forgot to take very many photos of the new baby, I did snap a few of Lena. Here's Lena in the car with her babies. I love Lena's scrunched up smile at the end.

By the way, this week (March 5-9), Lena has been practicing taking steps, has tried to comb and brush her own hair, and has been pushing a wooden cylinder through a wooden ring that just fits. The shape sorter is next. :)

Next week is Spring Break. My Aunt Nancy called this morning with a surprise. Her 4th grade class sang Happy Birthday to Lena! I put them on speaker phone while I held Lena in my arms. We still have a few more days until the 13th, but the birthday-ing has begun!

P.S. Check out her new blouse from H&M kids. I wish we had one for each day of the week. So cute.

Sigourney, just shy of 4 weeks old here.

Belly Buttons

Lena recently discovered that she has a belly button and that her doll Abby has a belly button too! Here she is going between her own and Abby's. She also thinks elbows are hilarious. Lena will be one in two weeks! She continues to try to walk, taking a step or two at a time.

Play Time at 11 Months

Puzzle time

Here's a quick look at playtime with Lena. She played with her wooden puzzle first, then she started blowing raspberries and making faces. Then, she stood up and did a little dance. Next, she played with her tennis ball and turtle shell before turning to read a book. Taken today, Monday, February 27.

Pretty Face

I took these photos of Lena on our bed in our room on Saturday, February 25. The lamp gave her a warm glow and the lens started to cause some distortions as she came too close, but look at her pretty face.

Picnic with a LIttle Friend

Last Thursday, February 23, we had a picnic at the Arboretum with Misty and Sydney. Look how Sydney is growing! She is 4 days younger than Lena. The girls ate snacks, crawled, and played. We'll have to work on sharing.
