Baby Bounce

Lena and I went to Baby Bounce at North Park Mall on Monday. We stopped at the food court for lunch. Lena was still very bouncy! Baby Bounce is at Bookmarks, the Dallas Public Library branch located at the mall. We sing songs and bounce with lots of other kids for about 20 minutes. It is total mayhem. I hope to have pictures to show soon. Both Todd and Amanda have come with me to Baby Bounce at some time.

Sleepy Bunny

Here's Lena with the bunny we keep in her crib. It's very soft and cuddly--just like Lena.

Gigi's Visit in September

Todd's mom came to visit September 8-10. It was so great to have her here! These are photos we took of Lena on the floor with me and Gail (Gigi). Lena sits up like a champ, but she loves laying down and rolling over.

On Saturday I helped Jen at White Rock Local Market with Hip Hazel Hoops. Gail and Todd brought Lena to visit me. Here is Lena trying on a pink hat with a tulle top. Gail bought Lena a different pink knit hat that is very cute.

My friend Pamela took this photo of Lena and I shoot through Alicia's woven paper wreath at WRLM. It was great to have so many friends vending at the market that day.

Here's Lena saying goodbye before I took Gail back to the airport. Until next time!

(I think it's just the light that is making Lena's hair look so red. It's brown.)

Lawrence Family Visit in September

Anne, Lena, and Deborah
Sunday, September 4, my entire family gathered at my parent's house to celebrate my mother's 61st birthday. We had a great time seeing all of Lena's cousins and showing off our little girl. Isn't that a cute picture of Lena on my lap? I'm going to be sad when she outgrows this dress. Lena was in a great mood. She played, visited, and slept. Her four-year old cousin Allison was particularly interested in Lena and very sweet to her.

Waking up...

Still a little groggy, but good.

Playing on the floor after we came home.

A full day, but she's still happy!

First Food, Revisited

While I've posted other photos of Lena eating, here we finally have the photos of her first bites of rice cereal ever, taken on August 28. She was very curious and kept lunging for the spoon with her mouth. She's been eating rice cereal for about 3 weeks now. After the incident last Wednesday, she isn't very interested in it at all so we're taking a break. I hope to resume solid foods this week.

Not quite sure about this...

Where's Lena?

There's Lena!

I peeked into Lena's crib while she was playing and saw that she had hidden her face under her butterfly. This photo is from Aug. 22. I'm so behind!

Lena and the Doctors

Lena turned 6 months on Tuesday, September 13. The next day she had her 6 mo. check up. She is 19 lbs. and 11 oz. and 28 1/2 inches long. She is the size of the average one year old (50th percentile). Her check up was great and we had a good day, despite all the shots.

That evening when I went to put her in bed she threw up, then again and again. She vomited five times that first hour, then she was wretching and spitting up stomach acid. I called my mom, then our pediatrician. Todd left work and met us at the Pediatric After Hours Clinic just after 10 p.m. Lena was still wretching and vomiting, so they sent us to the children's ER at Medical City. The picture above was taken when the nurse at Medical City was checking us in. Even sick as she was she's still so cute. Look at the little heart rate monitor on her toe. Right after Todd took this picture Lena threw up all over me again. After a few hours of waiting and seeing nurses Lena started to perk up, but she wouldn't take any liquids. We were trying to avoid an IV, but since she still looked so pink and there was no diarrhea or fever they eventually let us go home.

She didn't eat until 6 a.m. Her last meal had been at 8 p.m. She didn't throw up again after we left the hospital and she seemed perfectly fine the next day. Maybe it was a 6 hour virus? I'm not sure, but I'm glad she's feeling better.

I have lots of new pictures to put up. I'm hoping to get to it later this weekend. Todd has been working until 10 or later every night for three weeks now. We're both ready for a break.
