Green Glasses

Last Wednesday, May 30, my sister Amanda and her baby, Sigourney, came to visit. Lena decided to wear her pink hat and green glasses. Combined with that dress, she looks like a retiree in Florida about to go to her 4 p.m. dinner. Lena tried to share her book with Amanda and Sigourney.

My favorite shot in this sequence!

The next day, Lena was still playing with her green glasses and other toys.

Here, take the penguin!

Take it now!

I was so excited about this shot that I didn't wait for the camera to focus before I snapped it. Even blurry, it's still a great shot. That face!

Just another play day

These are photos of Lena playing in the house today. We had a laid back day after a hectic day yesterday. Can you believe how much hair she has now? Lena is such a big helper. She can move clothes in and out of the washer and dryer and take the silverware out of the dishwasher to help me unload it. She loves carrying her ball around and playing with her toys.

Pool Side

Lena and I played outside yesterday with her water toys. She loves her water table and is getting used to her mini-pool. She spent a lot of time practicing stepping into it and stepping out. She loves her green glasses and has been wearing them inside the house too. We're really enjoying our new outdoor umbrella to create shade in our very sunny backyard.

Mother's Day Recap

On Mother's Day we went to the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center. Here we are at Arturo's Nest (the baby playroom) at the DMA. Lena had a blast tossing the eggs around and rolling around in the nest. I can't wait until she's older and will want to do the art activities.

After the DMA, we went across the street to the Nasher Sculpture Center. Here she is walking around in the sculpture garden near the Richard Serra.

Inside, the new exhibition was by Ernesto Neto. "Cuddle on the Tightrope" is a crocheted rope installation that kids can walk through, but our little one was too small for it (ages 2+). I love the bright colors. While at the Nasher, we revisited the exhibition by our friend Erick Swenson -- sorry, no photos, but you can check the Nasher's website for more information. This was our second time to see his show.

Yellow Rose of Texas

Here are the last photos of the shoot. They are almost identical to the gray headband shots from earlier. In the second photo Lena is holding the gray Easter bunny that I knit for her. All of the photos in this series are by the wonderful Yony of YLK Photography. If you're in DFW I highly recommend her! These were product shots that doubled as baby photos in case you're wondering why Lena isn't always looking at the camera. All of the items are now listed at my Etsy shop.
